The characters are fleshed out and likable, with the Nameless City itself acting as a character, living and breathing life into the pages. It explores universal themes with charming protagonists who any reader is sure to root for. I was expecting to read a much less mature book, but upon finishing it I realized that the book is suitable for all ages. ![]() The illustrations are vivid and the storytelling is impressive. I enjoyed this book and would read it again. Now, the fate of the Nameless City in their hands. The two make an unlikely pair, but stumble across a plot much larger than either of them. Kaidu sneaks out into the city and meets Rat, a young street urchin who dislikes the Dao. Only the natives know that the city is impossible to keep and name.
